“Flowers of Evil” Drops High-Art Graphic One Sheet
It takes some examining to figure out the flower graphic in this high-art poster for “The Flowers of War.” The pedals of the figurative flower are formed by shards of metal that explode out form the impact of a bullet, which is the center of the flower. I love campaigns daring enough to release artistically inspired key art, especially when it’s as beautiful and provocative as this. This poster provides an idea of the film’s symbols and themes with a graphic image that tattoos itself on your retina. Now all we need is a poster that gives an idea of the film’s tone and premise as well.

This is bad.
I love great posters. I love great conceptual design.
This is not one of them.
It’s bad design. Yes it is trying to be cool. But it fails.
There is a concept. And that is the most important thing.
But it just doesn’t work. The execution is BAD! It’s a total failure. Looks like a bad design firm trying to be cool.
Very interesting concept… works well in this case
