In this simple yet evocative poster, the great, late Saul Bass employed his signature title sequence and cut out image design, which, along with his other great works, set the bar for poster design for an era. No wonder, then, that he created so many iconic posters for so many of the finest American filmmakers – Hitchcock, Scorsese, Preminger, Kubrick. The “Anatomy of a Murder” poster is the quintessential example of his uncanny ability to convey a deep message and strike a stirring emotional resonance with such simple colors, shapes and font.

I can’t say this is a favorite of mine. Simple, yes, but movie posters are meant to entice and give the viewer a desire to see the movie. This doesn’t do it for me…I don’t know, maybe I’m missing something.
Saul Bass was the best designer ever. And this is is best poster ever!
